The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) in Mpumalanga is currently visiting the Fernie two Local community Hall in Mpuluzi to render services on the community.

SASSA might be rendering expert services like new social grant applications, change of payment method, consumer treatment enquiries, together with the Social Relief of Distress (SRD) COVID-19 grant enquiries.

In a statement, the agency explained it is alarmed about the substantial number of people counting on social grants for survival.
“The purpose from the Integrated Registration Outreach Programme [ICROP] is to reach-out to your substantial range of clients/beneficiaries to access SASSA services.

“This is certainly because of the lack of infrastructure at Fernie and there is no completely functional office committed to service the area on a regular basis. The provider position made for intervention ordeals a high inflow of probable beneficiaries, that makes it hard for that office to attend to all people who pay a visit to a service point.

“In this reach-out programme, SASSA will mobilise more resources to help the servicing of all shoppers and enhance access to Social Assistance services,” the agency said.
